Review Nokia E7

Not much more can be said about Nokia's E seriesphones. We al know them, we all love them. This is why it's our great pleasure to offer you the review on what is called theNokia E7, the new flagship of E series. The first feature that jumps into your eyes is the phone's size. It really is a big phone, measuring 123.7 x 62.4 x 13.6 mm and 104.9 cc of volume. When you first look at it upfront, it does look huge and weighing 176g, you can imagine it's not an easy phone to handle. The good news is that once you turn the phone around, you will surely be surprised by it's slim waistline which is trully remarkable for a side slider and a real boost for pocketabilty. The metal chasis that surrounds it as well as the phone's overral build quality makes you forget the size and wight, and really enjoy the excellent design.
Let's talk a little about the sliding mechanism: it's pretty much the same construction which was used on the N97, meaning that the sliding bit has that useful massive hinge that enables it to pop open, obviously a feature meant to increase your comfort. You don't have to slide up, as you would do with most other phones, instead you push down the side of the screen, in which moment the spring assisted hinge simply takes over and completes the move. Despite the fact that it sounds relatively easy, it takes a rather strong push and the feeling that you are going to catapult the phone with your thumbs might arise, so try to be careful with that. Still, there aren't to many reasons to be concerned, because once you get past the tricky slide-up, you'll have in front of you a really nice and comfortable keyboard with four well-disposed rows as well as tactile and well-spaced keys, which have a kind of short stroke, but except that, we can't find any other reason to dislike it. There's also great backlighting, trully the work of a craftsman.
As we already said, the E7 has a great overall build quality, with it's reinforced glass on the front as well as that extremly durable aluminium case that we love, there's no doubt that the phone shall last for ages.

Review Nokia N8

If you've been a Nokia fan for years, then you'll have noticed that the Finnish firm hasn't been competing at the sharp end of the game for a while now.
The likes of the N97and X6have both been trumpeted by Nokia over the last year or so, but neither has particularly won critical acclaim, mostly due to a sub-par OS when compared to the whizz-bang-iness of the iPhone and Android set, as well as taking a veritable age to start using the latest technology, like capacitive screens and slimmer lines.
Now the N8 is here, bringing all manner of high end features to aNokia phone: 12MP camera, HD video recording, reams of internal storage and a high end media player, as well as the new Symbian^3 OS.
But is it a case of all spec and no trousers? Or is this a phone that truly seesNokiacombining the best of the tech with a great UI to properly challenge the smartphone frontrunners?
The Nokia N8 is a fairly large device - but that's not to say that it's chunky. It's merely large due to having a large 3.5-inch OLED screen, and it comes in at just 12.9mm thick.
Admittedly it's not the thinnest on the market, but when it's down to a matter of a few millimetres, it doesn't really matter in the pocket right?
The Nokia N8 is ridiculously packed with all manner of technology, and for once you can see it when picking up the phone for the first time.
Although, before we get into all the great things the Nokia N8 does, it does rankle that the phone doesn't have a removable battery, with the case being screwed down tightly.
As you can see this means the only way to get the SIM card and microSD memory is through some side doors - fiddly to use but do add to the overall slick feel of the phone.
Not letting you remove the battery is a pretty big statement from Nokia, as it's saying that it won't be plagued by the freezing bugs of before - battery pulls used to be a necessity in those situations.
However, the phone sites nicely in the hand despite the larger size, and you can't help but feel that the overall impression is increased by the sleeker look from no removable battery cover.
The frame is covered in anodised aluminium, which Nokiawas keen to show us was resistant to scratches. However, as you can see by the side unlock switch, this isn't always the case - some colour has been lost.

Review LG Optimus black P970

LG Optimus Black P970 phone specifications
At the CES 2011, alongside numerous gadgets and smartphones,LGpresented it's latest project: Optimus Black, an Android-based smart phone, bringing some impressive specs to the table. The phone is by far one of the coolest ever made by LG, impressing the audience with bright display, which is nicknamed 'Nova' and by measuring just over 9mm thick, being one of the thinnest phones out there. Thanks to it's great display and good-looks, you'll love watching movies, checking out pictures or even doing something common like reading a simple text message.
The phone definitely makes a strong visual effect and although it weighs only 109g, it offers smooth edges and sleek lines which really come in handy from the handheld grip point of view.
Despite the currently undisclosed price, the phone is set to come out in the first half of 2011, and already there are plenty of people eager to brag with it.
Two cameras are incorporated in the LG Optimus Black, a 2-megapixel one on the front as well as a 5-megapixel camera on the back, which although isn't capable of taking incredibly good shots, it doesn't let you down. The pictures come out in a very fulfilling manner, because of the really bright display, which helps a lot if you're trying to check out your phone in the glare of direct sunlight. The contrast ratio is quite decent and colours look vivid.
On the downside, the Optimus Black doesn't use the latestAndroidversion (which is the 2.3 Gingerbread),but the previous 2.2 (Froyo) .Still this version provides Flash support, also making a few tweaks in the attempt to give it a special LG flavour.According to LG, the Black will be updated with the 2.3 version, as well as other useful improvements so it's one good news after another for the thinnest phone in the world.

Review blackberry 9780

Display and Keyboard
We all know and almost all of us love the BlackBerry line. TheBold 9780's is the RIM's latest flagship phone and the subject of our present review. Starting off with the aspect of design, we have to notice that it doesn't exactly provide a huge shock for classic RIM fans. Even more, whoever made acquaintance with the Bold 9700, which is the 9780's predecessor, will surely be in familiar territory. In the same territory we shall also find the previous owners of the Curve 9300 model, which has the identical buttons layout on the phone's front as the latestBold. Of course, as far as RIM is concerned, there is virtually zero interest when it comes to the redesigning aspect, and preffers to concentrate more on what interests the businessman. As a rather big difference from the Bold 9700 is the lack of chrome which in our opinion is a good thing. Black is definitely back when it comes to the Bold 9780, and it really works. It has a glossy exterior making it a very handsome handset and the lack of all the smooth all-covering glass surface present on virtually everything starting from the iPhone 4and the HTC HD7, is a real plus.
It weighs in at 136g, obviously not a light phone, but taking under consideration the shape and size (114x66x15mm) and the fact that you will often use it with both hands, it's not such a bummer. As a whole, it has a nice thickness and it's really comfortable to get all your fingers around it. As expected from any BlackBerry, the built quality is trully excellent, what used to be chrome is currently glossy black, the QWERTY keyboard is a somewhat matt black as well as the area surrounding the battery cover on the back.
Did someone say keyboard? undoubtedly, one of the phones high points is the keyboard. It simply is remarkable. The keys benefitt from a certain curve depending on which side of the keyboard they belong to. Whether or not this makes a difference from the usability point of view remains a mistery, but still the fact remains. You get a nice amount of feedback, thanks to the firm click which the keys have when you use them. Also, during the night, it's a pleasure to send nessages or enterprise any other activity using the keyboard, which is backlit in a very nice and clear mode. If any of you were wondering why we hadn't said anything about the BlackBerry's usual little red light, it was just a tease. It's in the same place, the top-right of the phone's front fascia and it looks as cool as always.

The fourth generation from Apple is officially born. The iPhone 4, as the case with all the previous models, is a phone which everybody either hates or loves. One thing is certain, Apple's latest is always the greatest. They try to make it look as if they put less effort into making it than they actually do. Still, this can't be the case with this phone, the hard work being more than obvious. The iPhone 4 has a brand new look, new feel as well as plenty of new skills. Sure, it might sound risky to adopt a new look for the iPhone, taking under consideration that they didn't bother to change the design until now and still managed to sell ship loads of the product. The good news is that, at least from our point of view, Apple nailed it once again. Sure, the iPhone 4 may not have anything in common with it's predecessors but the main idea that made iPhone what it is, was that no design is the best design.
It's design is probably the most minimalist on the current market and the Number 4 definitely knows better than to try anything else. They practically started from zero, made few if any changes to it and managed to end up with an awesome new design. If this isn't magic, i don't know what is. It somehow feels more delicate than the older versions, it's thinner, more advanced, sharper and refined. Don't make the mistake of calling the iPhone 4 a fragile phone, despite the glass being fairly easy to shatter, it feels and is quite solid. If you put a 3GS and an iPhone 4 side by side on the table, you will surely argue everything i said earlier, sice you might have a hard time noticing immediate differences. You will remain slightly confused only while the screens are off, because once the incredible Retina Display powers up, you will throw away the 3GS, before it feels the embarrassment. And take under notice that it was considered one of the top phone screens out there. The new styling is much more visible at the rear, since it has glossy surface instead of plastic, and it's also believed to be scratch-resistant and much more sturdy than plastic. Obviously, this does not mean that if you really want to scratch or brake it, you won't be able to. Its oleophobic coating, both on the front and rear, is meant to reduce fingerprints and it does that quite well, although there isn't much you can do to keep the high-gloss surface clean. At least smudges are easily removed, thanks to the special coating, which is a good thing. Up front, you shall find a newly added secondary camera, which is located right next to the earpiece, on the left side. The proximity and the ambient light sensors are above the display while the round Home button is the only thing existing at the bottom. The phone's Retina display is without doubt the highest resolution screen we've ever seen in a mobile phone. Retina is merely a marketing name made up by Apple in order to differentiate it, although no extra differentiation is needed, because it really is the best screen out there.
Since the resolution has been bumped up four times, it's a little weird that the new display has the exact same size as those on the previous iPhones (3.5 inches). Say goodbye to the 320 x 480 pixels from the previous generation and embrace the magnificient 640 x 960 pixel resolution on the iPhone 4. This obviously makes images appear much sharper and smoother than ever before. LED backlighting is also present, resulting contrast ratio of 800:1, 4 times better than the previous ones as well. The good news is that things look as good in reality as they do on paper. Colors are truly vibrant, the 16M-color capacitive display delivers excellent image quality, the blacks are deep and the sunlight legibility is as good as it gets. No changes made to the touch sensitivity, but honestly it couldn't get much better than it already is. Not to worry, multi-touch support is also present.
